Adult Family Home (AFH)
Adult Family homes are a good alternative to bigger medical facilities.
Most homes are based out of standard residential homes any many neighborhoods around the area. Most homes offer a family like enviroment, only having up to 6 residents. Most homes are run by a single person, family or business partners. AFH's provide specialized care for people living with developmental disabilities, dementia, and mental illness.
Adult Family Homes can provide more one on one contact with patients due to the lower numbers of residents. All homes provide housing, meals and assume general responsibilities for the safety and care of residents.
Services may include:
Varying levels of assistance with personal care
Assistance with medications
Hospice/end of life care
Help with activities of daily living
Incontienence care
Adult Family homes offer 24 hr staff, home cooked nutritious meals and snacks, Private and Semi Private Rooms, Can take State Pay clients, and are usually Wheelchair Accessible.
