Qualifications for Power Wheelchairs:

1.  Patient must have mobility limitations that impair ability to complete ADL's in the home
2.  Patient must have the cognition, judgement and vision to safely operate the equipment
3.  Patient must be able to safely operate the equipment in the home
4.  Patient is unable to use a cane or walker to resolve mobility limitations in the home
5.  Patient is unable to propel/operate any type of manual wheelchair
6.  Patient needs the features of a Power Wheelchair to complete daily tasks in the home.
Requirements to obtain a Power Wheelchair through Insurance:

1.  A face to face evaluation must be preformed by your doctor
2.  Your doctor must provide chart notes from the evaluation documenting the qualifications
3.  Your doctor must provide a prescription for the equipment
4.  A home evaluation must be done assuring that your able to use the Powerchair in the home
Powerchairs are a great way to help you gain your mobility, independence and freedom back.

Powerchairs work great in most home environments and with there tight turning radius they are easy to use for almost every consumer.
